The Board of Directors is made up of nine faculty members from member colleges and the Executive Director. The nine members serve staggered three-year terms. Each year three new members are selected. ASIANetwork members are encouraged to submit nominations using this Board Nomination Form.
Nominees should be from schools that have been members of ASIANetwork for at least one year, should have attended at least one ASIANetwork conference, and should not be from the same school as another current or recently retired Board member from the last three years. Nominators should confirm a potential nominee’s willingness to be nominated before submitting the nomination. Self-nominations are welcome.
At the fall board meeting, the AN board develops a slate of candidates. At the spring business meeting during the annual conference, the board chair will make a final call for nominations and then ask the membership to vote to select three new board members.
With the goal of creating a diverse and representative Board of Directors, the Board takes various factors into consideration when putting forward a slate of nominees, including gender, age, and ethnic balance; board need; balance of geographic area of specialty and discipline; and geographic location of the nominee’s college.
