Call for Panel Proposals: 2011 ASIANetwork Conference
Doubletree Hotel Chicago-Oak Brook, Illinois
April 15-17, 2011

Transformations

The 2011 ASIANetwork Conference theme is TRANSFORMATIONS. The conference will be addressing this theme broadly and we encourage both on-going research and pedagogical presentations in a variety of fields. As the pace of technological change, and its correspondent impact on society, quickens, as the way we communicate transforms communication itself, the theme of transformation allows for some reflection on both change and sustainability. Panels and papers should look at transformations, past, present and future, of or about Asia. How has Asia been viewed, and viewed itself? How has Asia been taught, and taught itself? Confronted with such transformations, in the past as well as the future, how has this changed our understandings of sustainability, broadly understood. Possible topics for panels or ideas to help start thinking about papers and panels follow:

We welcome papers and panels on teaching, research and other forms of artistic expression. If you are interested in organizing a panel or submitting an individual paper proposal, please send the completed panel proposal form to me by August 27, 2010 either by email (please put ASIANetwork 2011 Conference in the subject heading) to: sudry@carthage.edu or by surface mail to:
