On Being Gandhi: The Art and Politics of Seeing
The images in this exhibition, taken by photographer Cop Shiva (Bengaluru, India), come from a series titled “Being Gandhi,” which consists entirely of images of Gandhi impersonator, Byagadehalli Basavaraju.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be a keynote discussion about the exhibition followed by a reception at the Fine Art Galleries in the conference venue.
The exhibition originated in The Frank Museum of Art, Otterbein University, Westerville, OH. It has travelled to Duke University, NC and Belmont University, TN. Curators: Chaya Chandrasekhar, Oklahoma City Community College, and Janice Glowski, Otterbein University, Westerville, Ohio.
