- According to the guidelines, colleges must be members of ASIANetwork for one year prior to making application for a grant. How is this year defined?
- Applicants for the 2010-11 program must have joined ASIANetwork prior to January 1, 2009, and must have paid their membership dues for the 08-09 and 09-10 academic years.
- Can a college submit 2 applications in one year?
- No. Each college may submit only 1 application.
- Can a college that has received an ASIANetwork - Luce Teaching Fellow grant apply in subsequent years?
- No.
- Can a college submit a proposal in the year following the submission of an unsuccessful proposal?
- Yes.
- Will a representative from the Luce Foundation be on the selection committee?
- No. The selection committee, consisting of 3 to 5 people, will typically include the executive director of ASIANetwork, the program director, and current and former members of the ASIANetwork board of directors.
- Are the colleges that receive the grant required to offer their teaching fellow housing, health insurance, and other benefits?
- No. The hiring college makes compensation decisions. It is assumed that the entire $30,000 grant will be used for the benefit of the teaching fellow in the form of salary and/or benefits. Additional salary or benefits may be added to the $30,000 at the discretion of the hiring college.
